grrrl manifesto
WHAT is Grrrl?
Grrrl is a literary magazine that provides a safe space for creatives in a time that restricts female and queer voices.
is a gallery.
is a discussion.
is a sleepover with your best friends.
is a continuous story shaped by every contributor.
is mobilization of our true thoughts and feelings.
is ever growing, forever changing.
WHAT is Grrrl doing?
We strive to build a collective space for our thoughts and feelings as art.
to accumulate a diverse selection of works inspired by feminine artistry.
to form a place for girls to commend and criticize each other.
to break boundaries, definitions, and normality.
to be unwavering against definitions and expectations.
to be a place of being and belonging.
to be a feminist magazine that does not know everything about femininity, but one where we prioritize and utilize collaboration between artists to create a community of understanding.
We understand that femininity is whatever the fuck we want it to be
WHY?
Our voices are important and imperative to society.
We want to make it easier to find collections of girl’s voices for other girls in need of community
to push our voices to the front and allow our thoughts to be known.
We have the power and right to a creative space.
We deserve a community.
We are badass.
GIRLS TO THE FRONT
